Lodges treks the Himalaya

Lodges treks accommodation in the Himalaya

Lodge trekking in Nepal is more popular than ever as most of the regions such as Everest base camp, Annapurna, Langtang Manaslu, and Mustang have well-developed lodges where double bedroom with foam mattresses can be found whereas pillows and some blankets can be borrowed. Usually, lodges having a common bathroom with squat toilet (you do not have running water in the toilet) and attached bathroom can occasionally be found.
The exception in the Everest region is that some great impressive lodges have been built featuring running hot water, indoor toilets (some suite room), electricity and WIFI facilities that are available almost everywhere. If you plan on using the internet and showering every day, then you should budget around $10 to $15 per day. You can also charge your electronic devices but you need to pay certain charges as per the power consumption. Therefore, we recommend bringing a power bank along with you. If you are on a longer trek, then a small solar panel would also be useful for charging up smaller devices.

However, the ongoing trek’s process is getting higher into the mountains as the lodges become more basic. Rooms are well-furnished with two beds and a thin mattress. The attached bathroom and showers are not always available. The ‘living room’ area is used for eating and relaxing and is heated in the evenings with a pot-bellied stove.
