Overview
The Annapurna I Expedition is one of the very high expeditions, reaching an elevation of 8091 meters. The Annapurna I Expedition (8091m) is the 10th highest mountain in the world and one of the most technically difficult and dangerous peaks to climb. It's more than just climbing a mountain. Annapurna represents a range of large and impressive 13 peaks above 7,000mtrs which has remained the heart of mountaineers for decades. Indeed, it was named after the Hindu Goddess of Food and Nourishment, Annapurna.
The impressive Annapurna range unfolds its 4 very high peaks like a formidable barrier, standing out to the north of the Pokhara Valley. Annapurna I, the highest peak is located to the west of the Annapurna Sanctuary. It is one of the mountains whose ascent represents an incredible challenge, due to its immense difficulty, and the high technicality it requires to face avalanches, dizzying icy walls, and other seracs, under unpredictable weather, not to mention that you have to climb to 8091m of altitude! However, in recent years, the number of accidents has decreased significantly.
For the approach to the base camp and the summit, the Yatri Trekking team usually chooses the West face and the North-West ridge, which corresponds to the safest route among all those possible. However, even the "safest" route on Annapurna I is still an extremely challenging and technical ascent that demands exceptional high-altitude skills and experience. the Annapurna I expedition is not intended for amateurs, it requires significant logistics and great experience in high mountains for maximum preparation for progression under the highest altitudes.
