Chepang hill trek is a mini, non-touristic trekking destination designed for those who do not have much time and cannot afford to hike at a high altitude. This trek can be combined with various jungle safari activities at the Chitwan national park. It leads through the homeland of Chepangs (one of the marginalized indigenous ethnic groups living a semi-nomadic life) in the Mahabharat range at a moderate altitude (max 2000m). In addition, it offers a comfortable climate zone on the northern hill from Chitwan National Park while trekking through their local villages. The trail offers spectacular views of the mountains, paired with magnificent sunrise and sunsets. Chepang hill homestay offers a rare combination of cultural and sightseeing experiences. The circuit allows you to experience different cultures compared to other communities. Whereas, villagers give a unique cultural performance for visitors on request and offer local handicrafts on sale as souvenirs.

How to get there:Chepang hill trail begins at HugdiKhola, which is about 80km from Kathmandu between the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway.
