Lobuche East (6119m) Peak Climbing in Nepal

Situated:  This is another beautiful trekking Peak in the Khumbu region. Lobuche Peak expedition can be combined with Everest Base Camp, and Gokyo Lake with Cholapass trek.

The ascent of the peak is technically hard, from base camp steep climb on snow and rocky south face towards (50º) then climb towards South East Ridge.

Lobuche East summit

The Peak is quite striking and is reached by descending into the marked notch and climbing steep snow/ice slopes to the top. So, It demands good physical fitness, well preparation, and enough mountaineering technical experience to scale the peak.

Approach: The trek starts from Kathmandu with a drive to Jiri and a trek to Lukla at 2800m. This is a good way to begin as it helps to develop physical fitness and well acclimatization. However, most of the trekkers (Climbers) take a flight to Lukla and start trekking follow the Dudh Khola through the pine forests of Sagarmatha National Park to the Everest base camp seen from near Pheriche, the dark triangle of its rocky East Face ridge
