Departure Notes for Everest Base Camp

We offer both fixed departures and private treks for the Everest Base Camp  throughout the year. Here are the essential details to assist you in planning your adventure:

Fixed Departure Dates

📅 Regular Group Departures: We schedule group treks during the prime trekking seasons: Spring (March-May)and Autumn (September-November). These periods offer the most favorable weather and trail conditions. You can join an existing group or request a customized departure date to suit your schedule.

Private & Customized Departures

🔹 Tailored Treks: If our fixed departure dates don't align with your plans, we can arrange a private trek tailored to your preferred schedule. This option is ideal for individuals, couples, families, or private groups seeking a personalized experience.

Last-Minute Bookings

✈️ Spontaneous Plans: We accommodate last-minute bookings; however, to ensure the availability of guides, accommodations, and necessary permits, we recommend booking at least 2-3 weeks in advance.

Minimum & Maximum Group Size

👥 Group Requirements: Our fixed departures require a minimum of 2 trekkers to proceed. For private treks, we cater to solo travelers as well as larger groups. Discounts are available for groups of 5 or more.

Flight & Transport Considerations

🛫 Lukla Flights: The trek commences with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Due to variable weather conditions in the Himalayas, flight schedules can be unpredictable. We recommend allocating buffer days in your itinerary to accommodate potential delays.

Extra Days & Weather Buffer

⏳ Weather Contingencies: The Himalayan weather is unpredictable. We advise adding an extra day or two to your itinerary to manage potential delays, ensuring you don't miss your international flight home due to unforeseen circumstances.

How to Confirm Your Booking?

✅ Reservation Process: To secure your spot, a 30% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance payable upon arrival in Kathmandu. Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or cash.

Additional Information

Peak Season (March, April, May, October, and November):
During the busy trekking season, flights to Lukla operate from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap to manage increased air traffic. Early in the morning (between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM), we depart from Kathmandu in a shared tourist vehicle for a 5-6 hour drive to Manthali. Upon arrival, we board a short, scenic 20-minute flight to Lukla.

Off-Season (January, February, June, July, August, September, and December):
In quieter months, flights to Lukla depart directly from Kathmandu. After an early breakfast, our team will escort you to the domestic terminal for a 35-minute flight, providing breathtaking views of the Himalayas.

Helicopter Option:
If you'd like to avoid the drive to Manthali during peak seasons, you can take a direct helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla for an additional cost of USD 550 per person (based on five people sharing).
